- Hits: How does the holy Quran picture the richness of God
According to the Quran, God is rich and free from any kind of need. Everything else is a creation of God and entirely dependent on him. Ghaniyy, meaning rich, is used in the Quran as a divine quality 18 times, such as in this verse: "Certainly We gave Luqman wisdom, saying, "Give thanks to God; and whoever gives thanks, gives thanks only for his own sake. And whoever is ungrateful, [let him know that] God is indeed Rich, All-Praiseworthy"" (31:12).
